4 Towns 4 Arts | southjerseylocavore.comNovember. I haven’t posted since November. And it’s April. Do you want to know how busy I’ve been? Of course, you don’t. So I’m just going to jump back in to posting all about our fabulous region, its great local foods and where to find them, the restaurants that support our local producers, the events that celebrate our foods, wines, beers, & spirits, plus other things of interest.

I’m excited about the upcoming weekend. I’ll be going to two public events that I want to tell you about.

On Saturday, I’ll be be-bopping around the arts scene in Camden County. 4 Town 4 Arts is hosting its 3rd Annual Open Studio Tour. I learned about this organization only earlier this week. Anytime we can support the arts in our area, I’m all for it. Here are the details.

4 Towns 4 Art presents the third annual Open Studio Tour. Eight South Jersey towns are highlighted — Barrington, Collingswood, Haddonfield, Haddon Heights, Haddon Township, Merchantville, Oaklyn, and Pennsauken — with 28 artists participating. Studio disciplines include painting, ceramics, fiber arts, drawing/illustration, photography, sculpture, mosaic, collage, and leather work.

The Open Studio Tour is free and open to the public. All members of the community are welcome to visit the studios on Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 11am to 5pm. Artists will be demonstrating, displaying, and selling their creations.

The link above will take you to a Facebook page. Scroll down a bit, and you’ll find a detailed map that lists the venues and their locations.

Philly Farm and Food Fest 2015 | southjerseylocavore.comOn Sunday, I’ll be at the The Philly Farm and Food Fest for its first hour or so. This is always a great event. Over 150 local food growers and artisans will be sampling and selling their products, there will be a local CSA Pop Up where you can buy produce and sign up for a CSA if you haven’t done so yet, and the Classroom Takeovers: The Urban Homesteading Takeover,  The Local Cookbook Author Takeover, The Kids Classroom Takeover, and The Butchers Block Takeover.

The Fest is from 11 AM – 4 PM and is held at PA Convention Center Annex, Hall G, Broad Street Atrium Entrance (close to Race & Broad Street). General Admission tickets are $20 with an additional $10 if you choose to do the Local Libations Lounge (which is always one of my favorite things at the Fest).

Check out my coverage of the fest from the past two years:

One last note. If you’re thinking about popping into some of the Local Cookbook Author Takeover sessions, it will be well worth your time. Several of the authors are the friends I mentioned in that last post I wrote in November, Cookbooks by my friends make great holiday gifts. We have amazing local food writing talent that really knows their stuff when it comes to cooking and preservation methods here in the Philadelphia/SJ region, and you have the opportunity to learn from them first hand on Sunday.
